About Ailsa

When I was born, I was a still born, in other words, I didn’t breathe. The doctors put me on a ventilator to help me breathe, at this point, no one knew if I would survive or not. The ventilator took breaths for me by pumping oxygen to my brain and around my body. As a result of me not breathing, my brain was starved of oxygen and I was brain damaged which means my brain doesn’t work as well as yours. I was on the ventilator for two days and I came off on my sister's birthday. If you asked me, I'd say that I'm very lucky to be here today.

I have come a long way from when I was little because I have achieved a huge amount of things that the doctors said I would never be able to do. I don't have a lot of control over my hands, so I do a lot of things with my feet instead because it is easier for me. Also, I use an electric wheelchair with head switches.

In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music and playing games, I particularly like to play Minecraft.

I have my own website called Brains on Wheels, on which I write blog posts and upload photos. Click on my logo inbetween my Twitter feeds below to visit my website. You can follow me on social media as well. All my links are below.
