Hello everybody, I'm Faith, I'm 14 and this is my CP story...

My name is Faith I was around 3/4 months premature and I was

diagnosed with cerebral palsy. As far as I'm aware, my Cerebral Palsy

is Diplegia, but I'm not to sure. This means that I have severe

brain damage which means that my legs don't work how an

able-bodied person's would and this makes me wheelchair bound.

I have bad circulation in my legs and feet therefore I can't stay in a

swimming pool etc. for to long as I start to go blue because of the

way my blood flows through my body.

If you ask me, I'd say I'm lucky to be writing this post today as doctors

thought I wouldn't live and I'm also lucky because I don't have a

severe case of Cerebral Palsy, therefore I only have few complications.

Although I can't walk, I still value my life as you only get one of them and you should make the most of it and do what makes you happy as life is a precious thing and you should never take it for granted, however, for some, that's easier said then done.

Although I struggle with simple daily tasks such as getting dressed and putting shoes on, I still like to think I'm a very independent person. Being a teenager, of course, means I can be a bit stroppy sometimes and of course I get annoyed sometimes when I can't do certain things, but I like to think I'm a nice person.

Cerebral Palsy doesn't stop me from enjoying myself, for example; I love going to concerts, out with my friends and listening to music, or walking my dog. I've never let my CP hold me back as I think it's important to embrace it rather than hate it and I've learnt to not be afraid of my Cerebral Palsy.

In my spare time I like to watch football (Man U) and listen to music.

I hope this gave you more of an insight into my life thanks for reading.
